FAQs

Common Questions about Integrating Your Kasa Devices into the Tapo App

Why would I want to add my Kasa Devices into the Tapo App?

Unified simplicity. When integrated, you will be able to fully control both Kasa and Tapo devices from one location. No more need to switch between two separate apps to control your Kasa and Tapo Smart Home devices.

What Kasa features and services can be synced to the Tapo app?

  • Kasa Devices
  • Kasa Groups
  • Kasa Smart Actions
  • Scenes
  • Features such as timers, away mode, and schedules

What Kasa features and services of Kasa cannot be synced to the Tapo app?

  • Subscriptions: Cloud subscriptions (TapoCare and KasaCare) are independent of each other. However, once integrated Kasa Cameras can be added to a TapoCare account.

Note:  You will need to cancel your KasaCare account in order to add the Kasa Camera to a TapoCare account.

  • Room settings: Because room settings are app-based and not device they do not transfer over.  You will need to organize your Kasa devices into the Tapo app’s room feature.
  • Third-party Services: such as Alexa and Google Assistant. These features are App based.  Once you integrate your Kasa devices into the Tapo app you will need to resync or link the Tapo app to these services to update the change.

How do I link my Kasa devices to the third-party services in the Tapo app?

Go to Me > Third-Party Services > Amazon Alexa / Google Assistant > Kasa Skill to connect Kasa devices to the third party.

What should I do if integrating Kasa into Tapo fails?
